How to drive traffic to build your email list

When it comes to learning how to drive traffic to build your email list, there are multiple ways that you can go about doing this. And with so many different approaches to marketing, you may be wondering which is the right one for you and your list. Driving traffic to your list is a huge task and can take some time before you start seeing results. However, if you follow these steps, sooner or later, you’ll find yourself with a very strong mailing list of customers who have come to know and trust you.

The first step in your journey to build your list is to find a website that offers something of value. If you are not a writer, you might consider signing up at HubPages or Squidoo; there are plenty of free templates for blog layouts. There are also free software programs like WordPress or Blogger, that you can use to build a functional website.

Next, you’ll want to pick a subject line. Your subject line is your first impression and it will dictate the way your readers proceed to your website. It’s important that you craft your subject lines creatively so that they stick in their mind. For instance, you could have “blog for cash”, “make money blogging” or “home-based business.”

After you’ve built your website, you need to get your list set up. You can either do this yourself, which would take longer, or you can outsource this task. Outsourcing makes things easier because you can focus on building your list and not worry about it. However, if you’re new to website creation, you can spend a couple hours once a week, if not more, building a simple site that will host a couple of blogs. When you finally have your site all set up, you’ll have a great starting point for marketing your email list. Start sending traffic over to your new site and watch your list grow!

Now that you have a great website, you need to start driving traffic to it. There are several ways to do this, but they all fall under two main categories: article marketing and affiliate marketing. Article marketing involves writing short articles about something relevant to your website’s theme. Each article you write should include a link to your website in the author’s resource box.

For example, let’s say you built a website about dog grooming. You could write an article about training dogs and then include a link to your website in the bottom of the article. Then every time someone clicks through to your website, you get paid a commission. It’s a simple process, but one that can build a solid list quickly.

The second category is more involved and involves website building and affiliate marketing. This is by far the best way to go about getting traffic and leads to your website. The most effective method is to find a successful product that people are already looking for on the affiliate marketer’s website and market it. This is how most successful affiliate marketing programs work.

You can also use article marketing to drive traffic to your website. Write short articles about something relevant to your website and submit them to article directories. When you have a couple of these articles published in reputable directories, you will be able to include a couple of links to your website in your resource box. In the resource box, you can direct readers to sign up for your email list. That’s all there is to affiliate marketing and traffic!
